We were extremely fortunate to have the US great Marcelo Balboa attend our AcademyMarcelo Balboa anchored the American defense in the 1990 and the 1994 FIFA World Cups.  He was named U.S Soccer Athlete of the Year in 1992 and 1994. In 1995, he became the first U.S. player to break the 100-cap barrier.  Marcelo played for León (where Luis Sr and Jr played as well) in the Mexican League in 1995 and 1996, before signing with Major League Soccer and the Colorado Rapids. Balboa played six seasons for the Rapids, leading as the team's all-time leader in many statistical categories. In 2004, he became a regular announcer for ABC and ESPN's television coverage of the U.S. national team. Most recently, Balboa has paired up with baseball announcer Dave O'Brien as networks' #1 U.S. announcing team for the 2006 FIFA World Cup.  We are extatic to also announce he will be a part of our summer academy as well.  If you want to train with the one of the worlds greatest soccer players of all time, make sure you sign up for our Summer Academy soon!

The "Caroline Phelan-Jones Scholarship"

This year, we lost an amazing member of our soccer community, Caroline Phelan-Jones.  STA would like to celebrate the time of this beautiful young and bright lady by dedicating a 10 scholarship program in her name.  It will be called "The Caroline Phelan-Jones Scholarship."  These 10 scholarships will be given to 10 special players that are as passionate about soccer as Caroline was.  In addition, STA has set aside another 10 scholarship program for players that are in need of financial assitance and have never done our training before.  We are very excited to offer a total of 20 scholarships to help revive the passion of soccer in kids that may not be able to afford extra training.  Myself and my assistant coaching director will decide the names of these 20 special players.  If you know of any players that we may not know about, Feel free to email us with suggestions.

Soccer Touch Academy 10 Year Anniversary!

What does the "10" on the back of our camp T-shirts actually mean?  We have had  several     people approach us with very clever assumptions.  Believe it or not, this is the 10th year that STA has been around.  We started with a group of about 15 players wanting extra training back in 1999 and now after  10 years of serving our surrounding communites, our Academy had its most  successful Program ever!  Thank you all so much for supporting our training.  So now you all know what the 10 means! See you soon!
